Apple officially introduced it’s newest iPhone lineup on September 9 2026.

The announcement marks another major step in Apple’s attempt to push the iPhone further into the premium smartphone market.                     Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max alongside iPhone Duo, the company’s first ever foldable smartphone marking the most radical redesign of the iPhone since its launch. The iPhone Duo comes in Star White and Night Sky and costs $1,999 for 256 GB of storage. While preorders kick off on October 16 the device won’t officially go on sale until October 23. Apple says the Duo product has the biggest battery ever in an iPhone.

Apple is a late entrant to the foldable phone market, which has been around since Samsung debuted the first Galaxy Fold in 2019. Since then phone makers like Honor, Google, Motorola, and Oppo have all made foldable phones. The iPhone Duo has a book like shape and is similar in size to Samsung’s recent Galaxy Z Fold 8.

For professional users and content creators, the camera and processing upgrades could be very important. Apple’s Pro iPhones have increasingly been marketed as devices capable of handling photography, video production, gaming and other demanding tasks that once required dedicated equipment and honestly it makes work easier and better. A large amount of consumers still prefer a conventional phone because it is familiar, durable and straightforward. A foldable device also tends to come with additional engineering complexity and  potentially higher price.

For now, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and reported iPhone Duo have generated a lotof interest, but consumers should wait for Apple’s official specifications, pricing and availability information before making purchasing decision.
