The six-track project, “101,” is a sonic journey that merges Afrofusion with other global sounds. Showcasing his versatility, he experiments with genres like Amapiano, Fuji, Makossa, and Afrobeat, offering a refreshing take on contemporary African music. Each track unveils a new dimension of his artistry, making it clear that he is here to stay.

One of the standout tracks, “Gaou,” exemplifies Cowater’s mastery of rhythm, seamlessly blending Amapiano and Afrobeats with traditional Makossa and Fuji elements. “Jovwo” displays his softer, romantic side, offering an emotionally charged ballad.

Meanwhile, “Rihana” and “Smooth Criminal” deliver up-tempo grooves, blending infectious beats with smooth, sophisticated melodies. The EP wraps up with “Jah II,” a spiritual track that combines gospel influences with Afrobeat, closing the project on a reflective note.

Collaborating with acclaimed instrumentalists such as Newtown Spice on guitar and T Drums on the talking drum, and with production by Lyquidmix, Jazzbeat, and himself, “101” delivers an impressive debut, marking him as a force to watch in the Afro-Fusion scene.
