Qing Madi vs JTON 

Signed at 16 and sued at 19, Qing Madi and her former record label, JTON Music are locked in a serious legal and contract dispute over financial misconduct allegation, signature forgery claims and music copyright.

Qing Madi initially signed up with JTON Music around the age of 16 because she was underage, and her mother co signed the contract. Under JTON she released hits like “ Ole” and “American Love”.

She later left the record label to launch her own independent imprint called KFMD. The relationship between Qing Madi and the label, reportedly began to break down. What started as a partnership turned into a dispute. Then a shocking development came up as some of Qing Madi’s music disappeared from streaming platforms which left alot of people confused and asking questions. Soon the conflict escalated into a legal battle. JTON filed a lawsuit seeking millions of dollars for damages, arguing that there was a breach in contract.

Qing Madi now backed up by a new label (KFMD), released a 7 track project titled “Barely Legal”. Following her victory in the lawsuit, five from the seven songs from the Barely Legal EP suddenly disappeared from Spotify. Qing Madi went public on social media, accusing her former management of the takedown and sabotaging her bookings. The EP “Barely Legal” is not just another release. It arrived at the time when Qing Madi was the center of attraction. Now, was Barely Legal just music or was Qing Madi trying to tell her side of the story without saying a word?
