While she is trying her best, the break-up still consumes her and despite the façade she has put up to the world around her, she is still just a heartbroken girl, ghosted with no answers. This is a record I wrote as a way to give myself closure for a relationship that ended brutally. It was me realizing I don’t need to wait around to have someone tell me some “thing” before I become okay. It was me realizing I hold all the power in the world to bring myself peace, to be okay again. It was me giving myself a hug. It’s also a reflection of who I am as an artist and the stories I want to tell. I’m my most vulnerable in the music; it’s the one place I possess no shame, where I can tell my honest truths and life experiences (no matter how embarrassing).”
